19th April 2016Following discussion and agreement at the Egg Processor International meeting in Warsaw, the IEC has formally approached the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) to update its global standards for the pasteurisation of egg products. The purpose of the updates is to help facilitate trade in egg products and to help prevent artificial barriers being applied by customers to their suppliers.

10th September 2015The Avian Influenza Global Expert Group has now been formed, and will hold their first meeting in Berlin ahead of the IEC Avian Influenza Summit. This expert group aims to come up with practical ways of changing the egg industry to better manage the threat of Avian Influenza, with the ultimate long term goal of moving the commercial egg industry beyond the threat of avian influenza.
