26th February 2013ISO (International Organization for Standardization) has formally accepted the IEC as an A-liaison for the working group (WG) recently established to tackle the issue of animal welfare. Under the ISO terminology, an A-liaison organisation is an organisation that makes an effective contribution to the work and questions raised by a technical committee or subcommittee. A vote by ISO members is required to admit a new A-liaison organisation within an ISO working group. A-liaison organisations are given access to all relevant documentation, are invited to ISO meetings and can nominate experts to working groups.
